People and Personalities in Gringley’s History
This separate section of photographs has been created to record the people and personalities of the village over many years. Pictures are presented in approximate chronological order. If anybody has more pictures to to lend for scanning to the collection they would of course be most welcome. Any corrections or additions to dates or captions are also very gratefully received.
“To my current knowledge this is the only person both on the 1841 village high street census and photographed, John Brewitt Milner – born in 1830, then living on the high street with his widowed mother a dressmaker (who remarries and then they depart).
